The current Board of Directors of the Nepali Women’s Global Network (NWGN), together with
the entire NWGN family worldwide, is deeply saddened and heartbroken by the tragic loss of life
and devastating destruction caused by the Bhote Koshi floods in Nepal.
NWGN-Global, NWGN Nepal, NWGN San Francisco, NWGN Los Angeles, and NWGN New
England Chapters, along with our members across the country and around the world,
stand united in solidarity with the people and communities affected by this tragedy.
We are profoundly saddened by reports of lives lost, families separated, homes and livelihoods
destroyed, and vital infrastructure devastated by these catastrophic flash floods.We extend our
deepest and most heartfelt condolences to all the families and friends who have lost loved ones.
We hold the missing in our thoughts and prayers to be reunited with family.
Our hearts are with every family grieving a loss, every person searching for a missing loved
one, and every community facing the difficult days ahead. May those who have lost their lives
rest gently in our hearts. May those who are missing be safely reunited with their families. And
may strength, hope, and healing reach every affected community.
NWGN is closely monitoring the situation and is actively discussing meaningful ways in which
our organization can support efforts for those impacted by this disaster. We encourage our
